October 1 Minutes

1) Obama Directors: planning on weekly phonebanking (different time/location each week), this Friday phonebanking is in Usdan 108 from 1-3 and be sure to bring a laptop and phone, VP debate watching in Fauver Lounge at 9
2) Lesser Directors: planning to meet with Alex, campaign director, on Friday
3) Himes Directors: the campaign will send phonebanking materials, possible canvassing with the College Dems on October 18
4) Voter Turnout & Education: organizing rides to the polls, Get Out the Vote, a possible “Election Countdown” on Wesleying, target to register those areas underserved by WesVotes (i.e. Clark), create an event targeted toward absentee ballot request registration, form coalitions with NEAT mentors, Team Dream, do canvassing in Middletown
5) Social Directors: debate watching party and more at Fauver and Fountain, planning underway for the 90s Party which will be held November 8



September 24 Minutes

1) Major focuses for the semester before Election Day: Obama campaign, Lesser campaign, Himes campaign, and voter education and turnout.

2) Directors decided upon for each focus:

Directors of the Barack Obama Campaign: Liza Conrad, Carlos Laureano, Harrison Polans, Miriam Berger, Elizabeth Weisman, Sophie Sotsky, Corinne Duffy, and Nick Yulinsky

Directors of the Matt Lesser Campaign: Sophie Ackoff, Carlos Laureano, Mike Pernick, and Miriam Berger

Directors of the Jim Himes Campaign: Dan Fischer, Nick Yulinsky, and Victoria Vidal

Directors of Voter Education Turnout: Elizabeth Weisman, Carlos Laureano, Liza Conrad, Rachel Tecott, Vignatha Reddy, Eliana Theodorou, Nathan Mackenzie, Noa Borkan, Sayre Sundberg, and Dan Levine

Directors of Social Events: Tristan Tully, Corinne Duffy, and Andrew Bean

2) Debate: this Friday, 3:30 (Karl- health care, Tristan- foreign policy, Chris- death penalty)
3) Jefferson Jackson Bailey Dinner: democratic fundraiser (email Karl by tonight if interested)
4) Matt Lesser: needs $5 donations (door-to-door fundraising run by Bradley, Woodhead meet-and-greet with Matt with faculty and students)
5) Justin Costa: former WesDems president, help with campaign

2) Debate - April 18, 3 pm, in a large open space, Don Moon to moderate, format: 3 issues, one person per issue (health care, America’s place in the world, the death penalty)
3) CT College Democrats - convention on the 19th
4) Meeting with the Registrar of Voters next week to discuss campus voting booth



March 26 Minutes

1) Mike Gravel coming to speak at Wesleyan April 8, discussion of venue, getting other groups to sponsor, beginning publicity (fliers)
2) Wesleyan Republicans - Wesleyan Democrats debate: Chris to email Campus Progress to put on WesFest calendar by Friday

* voting booth on campus, meeting with Councilman Faulkner; President Roth and Dean Mike willing to provide start-up costs; faculty allowed to use a vacation day on election days
* keeping an eye on Yale creating its own precinct
* mixers coordinating with the Connecticut College Democrats meeting at Yale
